World Plumbing Day is celebrated globally each year on March 11.
In support of World Plumbing Day, a wide variety of events and activities take place to celebrate the major role plumbing plays everyday and the contribution plumbers make to our society. It is a day to reflect on the importance of high quality plumbing.
The Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) will host its annual event on Friday 9 March 2018 at PICAC Brunswick.
PICAC’s CEO, Shayne La Combre, was elected to Chair the World Plumbing Council in 2016, showcasing PICAC’s strong commitment to supporting the World Plumbing Council, WPD and the Plumbing Industry.
A variety of stakeholders within the industry are invited to attend the industry forum. Attendees have the opportunity to listen to a range of keynote speakers who will deliver presentations with a focus on the issues that impact the plumbing industry. Shayne La Combre will discuss the significance of World Plumbing Day and the World Plumbing Council’s ‘Four Pillars of Plumbing: Participation, Practices, Products and Protection’ initiative.
The annual World Plumbing Day Plumbing and Sprinkler Fitting Apprentice Skills Contest is open to 3rd and 4th year apprentices in both fields. There are six places available for sprinkler fitters and ten places available for plumbers.
The contest begins at 6:15 am and concludes with an Awards presentation at 2:30 pm and gives you the opportunity to showcase your skills in front of a live audience.
